Merida’s class leading, aerodynamic road racer, the Reacto is consistently at the cutting edge of design, its innovative teardrop shaped NACA Fastback tube profile helping power Team Bahrain McLaren to multiple World-Tour victories. The Reacto 5000 is the second model in the lineup and boasts an all new CF3 IV frame, with durable nano matrix carbon and endurance comfort focused cockpit geometry. Merida have further refined rideability with a custom profiled seatpost which behaves like a conventional seatpost, significantly increasing comfort compared to other aero bikes. The carbon fork and tapered steerer are paired with 12mm bolt through axles for precise disc alignment and increased wheel stiffness, delivering confidence-inspiring handling. Disc cooling tech through CNC-milled fins offers 35% less heat build-up and faster temperature reduction providing stable braking performance. Merida is an international bike brand with its headquarters in Taiwan, the R&D department is based near Stuttgart in Germany. To be based in Germany has historical reasons for MERIDA but the precise location was chosen specifically because the region around Stuttgart is one of the hot spots of the automotive and machine building industry which Germany is famous for and attracts a hugely skilled design and engineer labor force.

The Merida team are more than just highly trained and experienced bicycle creators – they simply love everything ‘bike’. Most of their R&D staff are daily bike commuters while others are serious mountain bikers, who regularly compete in Marathon, Enduro and Downhill competitions, or licensed road racers and even ambitious Ironman triathletes.
