Yakima makes rugged, adventure-ready car racks built to haul your bikes to the trailhead without stress. These racks are engineered to hold your ride securely through mud, dust and washboard roads so you can focus on the single track ahead.
At 99 Bikes we stock the Yakima lineup so you can trust your bikes will arrive intact when you hit remote trails or weekend escapes.
The Yakima Story
Yakima began as a small outdoor company designing roof racks before growing into a global leader in cargo-carrying systems. Innovation has been constant: the first multipurpose roof rack, roof systems for gutterless cars, lockable rack hardware and rugged hitch and tow-ball platforms have all come from Yakima. The brand now has a base in Brisbane, making sure Kiwis get racks designed to cope with local conditions. Their decades of experience mean every product you buy is road-tested, off-road approved and built to handle our mountain passes, fire trails and beach salt air with confidence.

Why Ride Yakima?
- Hefty bike support. Yakima’s racks are tested to carry high-weight setups like full-suspension mountain bikes and electric bikes, delivering strength where you need it most.
- Engineered adaptability. Adjustable trays, wheel cradles and ramps mean bikes of different sizes and tyre widths fit securely without frame damage.
- Off-road readiness. Many racks have off-road load ratings, reinforced engineering and features designed for gravel, four-wheel drives and harsh Kiwi terrain.
- User-friendly security. Integrated locking systems, durable buckle and strap materials, and soft contact points protect your bikes and rack from theft and damage.
Popular Yakima Ranges Explained
Holdup
Holdup is built around hitch-platform carrying, holding bikes by wheel and frame and tilting easily for rear vehicle access. Wheel trays can fold inward when empty-handy for storage and travel. Fits most common wheel sizes with good tyre clearance.
FoldClick
FoldClick is Yakima’s towball platform range with a clever “Just Click” mount that secures it reliably to your tow-ball. It folds down small so you can leave it in the boot until it’s needed, carries bikes with wide tyres and includes locking grippers for added security.
Frontloader
Frontloader is a roof-mount upright bike carrier that holds the bike without removing the front wheel. Frame contact is avoided to protect finish, it works with disc brakes and thru-axles, and includes a lock core so your bike is secure wherever you drive.
OnRamp
OnRamp is Yakima’s hitch-platform range made for heavy bikes. It has a built-in ramp so you can roll your bike right-on, wheel trays that adjust for spacing and tyre width, and off-road rating when loaded to 60 percent capacity. Rack folds and tilts for convenience.
Fourtimer
Fourtimer brings four-bike hitch-mount platform capacity so you can take more of the crew. Ideal for families or group rides, with strong wheel trays, secure frame attachment and good spacing between bikes to prevent contact during transit.
GateKeeper
GateKeeper is a tailgate pad made for utes. It protects both your bikes and tailgate with heavy-duty padded cradles, felt backing, strong buckles and a long holding strap so you can carry up to five bikes safely, even electric ones, without roof lifting or rack installation.
