Fast and lightweight, the Speeder has the agility and smooth reliable shifting and pedalling performance of a Road Bike but features flat bars to improve comfort and handling. Redesigned for the 2020 season; The lightweight 6066 triple butted and hydroformed aluminium frame with smooth welding offers a slightly sportier geometry and a more extended reach for added stability, while still maintaining a more upright and comfortable riding position. This comfort inspired geometry paired with its control enhancing flat handlebars, and powerful disc brakes make the Speeder ideal for fast commuting or fitness rides. A Carbon fork and Carbon tapered steerer keeps weight minimal while providing great stiffness to the front end of the bike, delivering precise and confidence inspiring handling. Wider tyres and more tyre clearance improve the comfort element even further, but also give the Speeder more grip when it counts. Rounding off the Build internal cable routing offers a clean, neat appearan

Merida Speeder Bike Sizing Chart

Merida is an international bike brand with its headquarters in Taiwan, the R&D department is based near Stuttgart in Germany. To be based in Germany has historical reasons for MERIDA but the precise location was chosen specifically because the region around Stuttgart is one of the hot spots of the automotive and machine building industry which Germany is famous for and attracts a hugely skilled design and engineer labor force.

The Merida team are more than just highly trained and experienced bicycle creators – they simply love everything ‘bike’. Most of their R&D staff are daily bike commuters while others are serious mountain bikers, who regularly compete in Marathon, Enduro and Downhill competitions, or licensed road racers and even ambitious Ironman triathletes. Get the behind the scenes view of the Merida R&D centre and meet some of their key members of staff in the below video.
