Key Features
  • Full aluminium frame with FAST kinematic suspension and AGILOMETER sizing
  • Radical new trail geometry with full 29er wheels
  • SR Suntour and RockShox suspension, 150 mm front, 143 mm rear
  • Wide-range Shimano 11-speed drivetrain
  • 200 mm dropper post on XL/L/M, 150 mm on S, 125 mm on XS
  • Powerful 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes
The ONE-FORTY 400 brings an unheard of level of climbing and descending performance into a high-value package built around our all-new aluminium frame. It's got exactly the same ground-breaking geometry as its more expensive brethren, without the price tag. Dropper posts on all models, a wide-range 11-speed Shimano drivetrain and no-nonsense suspension from SR Suntour and RockShox get the job done without fuss. The new ONE-FORTY is the ultimate trail bike, made for the toughest trails in the world. It’s the pinnacle of modern trail riding, with a super-steep 80° seat angle, low front end and bottom bracket allow it to clear the most technical climbs, while longer reach figures across all sizes and a well-balanced 65° head angle mean it’s still more than capable of any descent. With our new sizing system, riders can run a longer or shorter reach frame independently of their height, with suspension that becomes more progressive as you size up to better cope with heavier/harder riders.

Merida is an international bike brand with its headquarters in Taiwan, the R&D department is based near Stuttgart in Germany. To be based in Germany has historical reasons for MERIDA but the precise location was chosen specifically because the region around Stuttgart is one of the hot spots of the automotive and machine building industry which Germany is famous for and attracts a hugely skilled design and engineer labor force.

The Merida team are more than just highly trained and experienced bicycle creators – they simply love everything ‘bike’. Most of their R&D staff are daily bike commuters while others are serious mountain bikers, who regularly compete in Marathon, Enduro and Downhill competitions, or licensed road racers and even ambitious Ironman triathletes. Get the behind the scenes view of the Merida R&D centre and meet some of their key members of staff in the below video.
