  • Name: Ollie

    Role: Team Leader

    Experience: 5 Years working in 99 Bikes Australia, Racing experience for 8 Years.

    Expertise: MTB and BMX.

    What do you love about bikes: I love the freedom they give you, whether its hitting big flowy jumps, gnarly DH sections or cruising along the beach - there's so much fun to have on a bike!

    Current bikes: 2021 Norco Shore, 2019 Norco Sight C1, Custom BSD Safari BMX, 2019 Merida Scultura 4000.

    Favourite ride: Mr Black (Skyline Rotorua), Taniwha National DH (Redwoods), Trouty (Derby, Tasmania).

    Role: 2IC

    Experience: Growing up I have always had a passion for physical activity. With this riding a bike growing up was a passion that I enjoyed with family and friends. With this I have joined the 99 Bikes family to help reignite the passion I once had growing up.

    Expertise: Have been working in the sport and recreation sector for over 5 years learning various skillset and knowledge. With this I wanted to explore a different sector which will help me gain new skills and knowledge that will be beneficial for my own personal development.

    What I love about bikes: What I love most about bikes is the freedom of being to explore any part of the world whether it's through the road or a local trail.

    Current bikes: Giant Fathom.

    Favourite ride: On the road and local trails within my area.

    Role: Sales Consultant

    Experience: I love riding bikes and working on them. I have ridden a lot of them since my childhood. 

    Expertise: Mountain bikes.

    What I love about bikes: They are fun and challenging. I love to test my limits and to learn new new things about bikes.

    Favourite ride: Norco Sight, Marin Rift Zone.

    Role: Workshop Team Leader

    Experience: After working on my own bikes for 5 years, I have now been a mechanic with 99 Bikes Takapuna since December 2020.

    Expertise: Mountain bikes.

    What I love about bikes: The ability to exercise and get a good workout while having fun at the same time.

    Current bikes: Santa Cruz Nomad.

    Favourite ride: Rotorua and my hometown trails in Santa Cruz.

  • Name: Pete

    Role: Trainee Bike Mechanic

    Experience: Got into bikes in late 2021 and jumped at the chance to work at 99 Bikes.

    Expertise: Fixies.

    What I love about bikes: They're bloody fun. Since I started riding, I cant simply walk from A to B, its just not fun enough. the cyclic pedaling motion is a must.

    Current bikes: 3 unbranded fixies and 2 Pedal single speeds (Gotham + Tokyo).

    Favourite ride: City roads!
