  2. Clean and degrease your bike

  3. Change a tyre and tube

  • Name: Jared

    Role: Team Leader

    Experience: After beginning my journey with 99 Bikes in September 2020, I’ve had the opportunity of working with a wide range of riders, from first-timers to seasoned enthusiasts. Over the years, I have gained in-depth, hands-on knowledge of our products and developed a passion for helping customers find the perfect bike to match their goals, lifestyle and riding style.

    Expertise: E-Bikes, MTB, Road & Commuter

    What do you love about bikes: I love the freedom and simplicity of riding a bike, ranging from commuting, heading down a rocky trail, or even cruising through the neighbourhood. Bikes bring people together to promote a healthier lifestyle, and contribute to a more sustainable environment for everyone to enjoy.

    Current Bikes: Marin San Quentin 2, Merida Big Nine 200, Marin San Rafael DS1

    Favourite Ride: Riverhead

  • Name: Lauren

    Role: Second In Charge

    Experience: Multiple years working in retail including at other bike shops. Have done a bit of everything including; commuting by bike, over night rail trails, gravel riding, mountain biking, and triathlon.

    Expertise: Love helping out people new to riding and educating them on what they need to have a great time on their bike. Lots of experience changing tubes and basic maintenance. 

    What do you love about bikes: I love how accessible cycling is - it's a great low impact way to get your body moving and to spend time outdoors which is great for your mental and physical health. I believe there is a bike for everyone!

    Current Bikes: Trek Checkpoint AL5 gravel bike, Trek Fuel Ex 5 mountain bike. 

    Favourite Ride: Auckland has some great cycleways for riding and Riverhead for off roading.

    Role: Mechanic

    Expertise: I got few years experience on motorbike and E-scooter, and have a good discipline of mechanical eggineering. I am passionate about exploring more on the road.

    What do you love about bikes? A smart way to transform human chemical energy into a rotational dynamic and drives people go faster and longer.

    Role: Sales Consultant & Mechanic

    Expertise: I love all types of bikes, but especially E-bikes and Mountain bikes. My favourite thing is getting new people on the perfect bike.

    What I love about bikes: I love bikes because it is a great way to get outside, and also spend some quality time with your friends and family.
