WTB builds better because life’s better on a bike. With over 40 years designing saddles, tyres, wheels and more, they bring ride-winning tech down to gear that welcomes everyone.

Kiwi trails, local streets, long gravel roads—WTB gear works to make every ride comfortable, dependable and worth remembering.

The WTB Story

Wilderness Trail Bikes (WTB) began as a group of riders in Marin County, California, who grew tired of gear that couldn’t keep up. Starting in 1982, founders Mark Slate, Steve Potts, Charlie Cunningham and Lance Wyeth turned their trail frustrations into components built for real riding. They introduced a steel trail frame in the early years, the first 29-inch tyre in 1999, and have kept pushing innovation ever since.

The history of WTB benefits you every time you saddle up. You get technology born from trail riding, honed by racing and testing, now engineered into everyday parts—saddles that relieve pressure, tyres that grip loose gravel and wheels built to last.

Why Ride WTB?

  • Decades of evolution> Practical design WTB has been designing bike components since 1982, and that experience shows in smart features like the Love Channel, Comfort Zone and Fit Right systems that help reduce discomfort wherever you ride.

  • Riding first—looks second WTB parts are built for real use—not just styling. Whether it’s climbing steep tracks, navigating technical trail or long gravel roads, their products are tested in conditions you’ll face.
  • Serviceable and sustainable From wheels you can service without proprietary tools, to tubeless systems that reduce flats and use less rubber, WTB balances longevity and ride-time for riders who care.

Popular WTB Ranges Explained

WTB Volt

The WTB Volt saddle finds the balance between lightweight sport and comfort for all-day riding. It uses a contoured shape and a relief channel (the Love Channel) to reduce pressure on sensitive areas. Multiple rail materials and a Fusion Form base offer options for different weights and riding styles without compromising support. Great if you ride for hours, climb steeply, or just want a saddle that stays comfortable.

WTB Rocket

The WTB Rocket saddle is designed for riders who stay planted and demand more padding under load. It has a curved profile from nose to tail, thick padding and a hidden handle on the back to help when packing up or lifting. Built with Fusion Form base and with varying rail materials, it suits long seated climbs, rough trail riding, and cases where comfort over rough ground matters most.
