Confused by bike brakes and tools? Tektro cuts through the clutter with parts that work better, last longer and feel reassuring under your hands. Ride with confidence, not quid-jumps.

The Tektro Story

Tektro was founded in 1986 in Changhua, Taiwan, by three friends who started out building cantilever rim brakes. Their first factory was the size of a basketball court, yet that small start led to producing thousands of brake sets each month.

Over decades they’ve built design teams, research-and-development labs and factories in Taiwan and China. Their first hydraulic disc brake came in 1999, now a crucial product. That history means your braking parts today benefit from long-tested know-how, precision engineering and a commitment to safety and durability.

Why Ride Tektro?

  • Proven manufacturing pedigree with over 35 years of making brakes including pioneering hydraulic disc brakes since 1999. You get professional-grade engineering that trickles down to your ride.
  • Quality control baked in — every hydraulic disc brake undergoes oil pressure tests, repeated lever pulls and cycle durability exams so your brakes arrive tested reliable.
  • Smart design for everyday conditions — mineral oil fluid, forged aluminium calipers and balanced resin brake pads give consistent stopping power without harsh noise or corrosion.
  • Parts built to last and easy to service — hoses are replaceable, rotor wear specifications laid out, plus widely available brake pad models like Q13RS means maintenance is affordable and spare-friendly.

Popular Tektro Ranges Explained

Tektro Hd-M285

The Tektro Hd-M285 is a hydraulic disc brake system with two-piston calipers and two-finger levers. It uses non-corrosive mineral oil, has aluminium levers and forged aluminium calipers for durability and reliable stopping power in wet or dry conditions.

Tektro Q13rs

Q13RS brake pads are a balanced resin compound designed for wider disc brake calipers and rotors. They offer quieter braking, steadier wear and predictable feel under pressure.

Tektro Rs-360a

The Tektro RS-360A are two-finger rim brake levers crafted in alloy, suitable for use with rapid-fire style shifters. They give good leverage, crisp response and ease of reach adjustment for different hand sizes.

Tektro Hydraulic Hose

Tektro hydraulic hoses are 5.5 millimetre outside diameter lines fitted in their hydraulic disc brake systems like the HD-M285. They include compatible fittings so you can replace worn hose sections or customise hose routing without replacing the entire brake unit.
