ODI is where heritage grips meet modern ride comfort. We believe in grips that deliver serious control without causing hand fatigue, designed for how you actually ride your bike. Every grip comes from decades of design tuned into real rides, not just the showroom.

The ODI Story

ODI began in the early 1980s in California when Herb and Kay Guerr first made the iconic "Mushroom" ribbed design. They were running a moulding company supplying skateboard rails, boogie board handles and more, before BMX riders latched onto those grips and made them a BMX classic.

In the mid-1990s Dave Grimes took over ODI, started treating rider feedback as engineering data and introduced the first commercially successful Lock-On grip. That grip style makes it simple and secure to swap grips and has become standard worldwide. What started in Muscle Beach skate parks and SoCal BMX tracks now benefits every rider by pushing comfort, durability and practicality.

Why Ride ODI?

  • In-house design and moulding. All grip shapes, textures and compounds are developed and made by ODI so quality and innovation stay real.
  • Lock-On system leadership. ODI pioneered the design where grips clamp instead of glue, making installation cleaner, faster and more secure.
  • Purpose-built compounds. Soft zones where your hands need cushioning, firmer material where durability matters most.
  • Rider feedback driven. Ideas grow from real riders—BMX, Mountain Bike, Motocross—all informing grip patterns, sizes and features you feel on your next ride.

Popular ODI Ranges Explained

ODI Longneck Sl

The ODI Longneck Sl grip keeps the classic ribbed pattern that made ODI famous. Softer compound dampens vibration, flangeless ends make shifting or tricks less interruption, all wrapped up in a length that gives good leverage without bulk.

ODI Rogue Lockon

Rogue Lock-On grips feature large padded raised sections to soak up impacts, rugged surface texture for grip in dirt or rain, plus a clamp lock-on system so your grip stays firmly where you put it.

ODI Elite Pro

Elite Pro gives you padding exactly where your hand needs it most, without making the grip bulky. The half-waffle pattern helps control when you're riding out of the saddle or over rough ground. New lock-on clamp frees up grip space and soft ends protect against damage.

ODI Mtb Elite

The Mtb Elite range is built for trail, enduro and all-mountain riding. Softer compounds absorb vibration on long descents. Lock-on clamp versions make swaps easy. Textures and diameters tuned to match modern mountain bike setups.
