Shop Michelin

Michelin brings its century-plus tyre expertise straight to your ride. From electric Mountain Bikes to rugged Enduro terrain Michelin’s innovation means grip, durability and real value in every kilometre.

Grip that holds in mud, toughness that resists thorns, protection that saves your ride – that’s what riding Michelin means for the everyday trail seeker.

The Michelin Story

Founded in France in 1889 Michelin began by inventing the removable pneumatic tyre and went on to pioneer the radial tyre among many other breakthroughs. Over its 130-plus years Michelin has refined rubber, tread design and casing technology in motorsport, road racing and off-road competition.

That know-how has filtered down into their mountain bike range with better compounds, tougher sidewalls and designs proven by world cup racers—so your tyres work harder and last longer on New Zealand's trails without costing a fortune.

Why Ride Michelin?

  • Racing-line compounds for real grip: Michelin’s Magi-X and Gum-X rubbers are engineered for wet grip, cornering control and long tyre life even in cold or mixed trail conditions.
  • Strong, durable casings: Bead-to-bead shields and double-ply or high thread-per-inch carcasses resist damage, help protect against punctures and maintain shape under pressure.
  • Balance of rolling efficiency and traction: Treads combine wide-spaced centre knobs for speed with shoulder blocks for grip when leaning. You get both momentum on climbs and control on descents.
  • E-Mountain Bike optimised: Michelin’s E-Wild lines include protection and tread patterns built for motor torque, low pressures and the longer demands of electrically assisted riding.

Popular Michelin Ranges Explained

Michelin Wild

The Michelin Wild tyres are the tough yes-trail choice. If your ride sees soft terrain or mixed track you’ll appreciate how Wild delivers grip, chunky tread and control through corners without paying in excessive weight.

Michelin Force

The Michelin Force range is tuned for Cross Country riders who want fast accelerating, efficient tyres for dry or mixed trails. It still grips where you need it while rolling smoother over hard-packed tracks.

Michelin E-Wild

The Michelin E-Wild range is built for electrically assisted Mountain Bikes. It uses reinforced casings, advanced compounds and tread designs made to handle higher torque, low pressures and bigger demand on endurance.
