The Garmin Story
Founded in 1989 by Gary Burrell and Min Kao, Garmin began by making navigation devices for marine and aviation industries. Its early move into GPS technology set the stage for its leadership in fitness, safety and outdoor tracking.
Garmin introduced its first cycling computer, the Edge, in 2006. That technology history delivers today in cycling gear built to withstand rainfall, provide accurate data, and offer dependable performance to riders at all levels.

Why Ride Garmin?
- High-precision GPS and mapping. Garmin cycles use multi-band Global Positioning System support and clear, preloaded bike-specific routes so your speed, distance and direction are accurate even in dense trees or city canyons.
- Rigorous lab-grade accuracy. Power meters such as the Rally series operate within plus-or-minus one per cent error and smart calibration notification helps maintain accuracy.
- Safety built on tech. Varia radar tail lights detect traffic from behind and deliver visual, audible or vibration alerts. Lights change brightness for speed or visibility and warning signals activate under braking.
- Indoor training without compromise. The Tacx Neo trainers simulate real-ride feel with no belt slippage, support steep grades up to 25 per cent, read watts and cadence within one per cent, and even work without mains power during short climbs or race warm-ups.
Popular Garmin Ranges Explained
Edge
The Edge series offers GPS cycling computers focused on mapping, turn-by-turn directions, performance data and long battery life so you're in control ride after ride.
Varia
Varia lights and radar combine visibility and awareness. Tail lights warn traffic behind you, smart headlights adjust with speed or ambient light and radar alerts help you ride safer in traffic.
Rally
Rally power meter pedals measure your effort in real numbers. Single- or dual-sided sensing tracks power, left-right leg balance, and resets quickly between bikes. Accuracy stays tight thanks to smart calibration.
Tacx Neo
Tacx Neo smart trainers create real-ride experiences indoors. Resistance responds to virtual terrain, descent and road texture. Bluetooth and ANT+ connect to training apps for full control over power, grade and cadence data.
