Shop Fidlock

Fidlock brings magnetic-mechanical innovation out of the lab and onto your handlebars, making hydration clever, concise and fuss-free. It removes the cage from the equation, letting you grab and return bottles with one hand, even in tight or full-suspension frames. Ride with smart simplicity rather than bulk, while keeping hydration secure over every bump.

The Fidlock Story

Fidlock was founded in Hannover, Germany in 2007 by inventor and former professional cellist Joachim Fiedler. His dislike of fiddly fasteners on his bow holder led him to develop magnetic-mechanical clamping that could be opened with a twist or snap and locked tightly in place with precision. Fidlock’s first fastener for school bags grew into an entire system of solutions in sports, outdoors and cycling.

In 2016 Fidlock launched its BIKE line, introducing their water bottle systems to the bike world. These systems are now sold around the globe and offer real advantages for cyclists here in New Zealand: secure mounting for gravel grinders, full-suspension Mountain Bikes and compact road frames, so you stay hydrated without compromise.

Why Ride Fidlock?

  • Magnetic-mechanical fastening: each Fidlock bottle combines magnets and a mechanical lock so the bottle clicks in securely, stays fast over rough terrain and releases with a simple twist.
  • Compact design for tight frames: the TWIST bottles come in sizes like 450 mL and 590 mL with sleek bases that fit into modern full-suspension ranges or smaller frames where traditional cages get in the way.
  • High-flow, leak-proof caps and food-safe materials: valves self-seal, lids stay clean, bottles are made from BPA-free plastics, safe for dishwasher use and use hygienic production—no weird tastes or smells.
  • Versatility of mounting: besides thread inserts with TWIST bike bases, there are universal bases using straps for frames without bosses, meaning you can still run a Fidlock system on nearly any bike.

Popular Fidlock Ranges Explained

Fidlock Water Bottles

Fidlock water bottles use the TWIST system so you mount a slim base or connector to your frame, then bring the bottle close and the magnets guide it into place with a satisfying click. Sizes range from 450 mL for compact setups, through 590 mL for all-round riding, to 800 mL when you need larger capacity. Lightweight, easy to clean and wear-resistant caps make them good for every ride.

Fidlock Bottle Cages

The traditional cage is replaced by TWIST bike bases or bottle cages that work with Fidlock’s connector system. These bottle cages attach via screws or straps, keeping your bottle held firmly, reducing bulk and avoiding interference with suspension links. Ideal when your frame lacks space for standard cages.
