Drivetrain Parts

Your Bikes drivetrain is the powerhouse of your bicycle, the components work together to relay energy from your legs to the wheels. 99 Bikes has all your drivetrain needs. This includes the cranks, which is where your pedals fasten, cranks have one or more chain ring attached, this is where the force from your legs is transferred from your pedals, through to your chain. The chain transforms the power from your legs, into forward movement in your rear wheel. Your cassette is a large set of cogs attached to your rear wheel; this is where most of the gear changing happens for majority of riders. Both front and rear derailleurs are pivoting frames that conduct the movement of the chain from cog to cog on your cassette to alter the gear ratio. Shifters are the brains of the operation; these are the component on the handlebars which controls which gear your bike is in at any moment.
