Discover DK Bikes for Kids
DK is all about backyard rides, giggles, scraped knees and real firsts. With Kids Balance & Tag Along bikes made to help children find their footing with confidence and joy, every ride becomes a building block of skill and fun.
This isnât about flashy tech just for bragging rightsâitâs about safety, durability, practical features and design that make learning to ride one of your childâs favourite things.
The DK Story
DK stands for âDad and Kidsâ, founded in 1979 in Ohio when young BMX rider Bill DaniÂshek broke stem after stem. His father Charlie, a skilled toolmaker, made a stronger stem to stop the breakdownsâand DK was born.
Since then DK has grown beyond stems to offer complete bicycles, frames, parts and accessories, carrying the same focus on ruggedness and precision. That BMX heritage means every bike DK makes still reflects lessons learnt on tracks and ramps, so kids benefit today through strong construction, thoughtful safety and real features kids need.

DK Nano
The DK Nano balance bike makes the first step into two-wheel riding smooth and direct. It uses a low-profile steel frame with built-in foot platform, 12-inch inflatable tyres, alloy handlebars and padded seatâall chosen to help toddlers aged roughly two to four learn balance and steering without training wheels. The adjustable seat height lets the bike adapt as they grow, easing the jump to pedals later on.
