DeFeet makes socks the way good cycling should feel: real, rugged, reliable. These are made for passionate riders who want comfort and performance without fuss.

From breathable mesh weaves to tough fibres made in the USA, every pair brings high-end passion into socks that last ride after ride.

The DeFeet Story

DeFeet was born in 1992 when founder Shane Cooper decided traditional cycling socks needed a rethink. He swapped layers—putting nylon on the outside for strength, soft fibres against the foot for comfort—and introduced the Aireator mesh instep to pull moisture away. That innovative construction still defines DeFeet today.

Made in a North Carolina microsockery using traceable Merino wool from Oregon and recycled fibres, DeFeet’s history keeps riding forward. That means socks built for real kilometres, whether you’re climbing climbs, exploring gravel roads or cruising backroads.

Why Ride DeFeet?

  • Inside-out construction for durability and comfort. DeFeet reverses traditional sock design by placing nylon on the outside to resist abrasion and putting softer fibres against the foot to reduce irritation.
  • Aireator mesh weave to manage moisture. Open-mesh weave over the instep pulls sweat away and helps feet breathe, keeping them drier in heat or long rides.
  • Sustainably made in the USA. Fibres like Merino wool from Oregon and recycled polyester from post-consumer bottles are processed near home, and most machining and knitting happens in their North Carolina facility.
  • Long lasting with quality control. Heels and toes reinforced, cuffs that stay up, seams minimised—all so you get value over many rides, not just one.

Popular DeFeet Ranges Explained

DeFeet Aireator

The DeFeet Aireator is the sock that changed how endurance cycling socks are built. It features an open mesh weave over the top of the foot for airflow, reinforced heels and toes, and thin profile materials so it fits well inside cycling shoes. Made with recycled fibres, it dries fast and puts comfort first.

DeFeet Barnstormer

The DeFeet Barnstormer offers the same aerodynamic mesh and breathable, moisture-wicking fabric as Aireator, but adds bold colours and shorter, stylish cuffs. It’s designed for riders who want performance without sacrificing flair. Every pair is lightweight, durable and made to stay in place while you ride.
