The Merida Mission CX 400 is a dynamic cyclocross bike built for high speeds on race day, but equally at home as a high-quality recreational road bike which can handle some off-road exploration. It starts with the Mission CX lite frame, manufactured from triple butted and hydroformed 6066 aluminium, with Merida’s class leading smooth welding and rattle free internal cable routing. A full Carbon Tapered Fork reduces weight while increasing vertical stiffness, providing very precise steering and enhanced confidence in corners. The Shimano 105 2x11 speed drivetrain ensures smooth and reliable shifting performance, while Hydraulic Disc Brakes provide the braking control needed for muddy and wet conditions. With increased tyre clearance and the ability to add mudguards, making them more versatile, particularly when used as a training or commuting bike. The Mission CX 400 is a racing cyclocross Bike that isn’t out of place in everyday life, with the versatility to use all year round.

Merida Mission CX Bike Sizing Chart

Merida is an international bike brand with its headquarters in Taiwan, the R&D department is based near Stuttgart in Germany. To be based in Germany has historical reasons for MERIDA but the precise location was chosen specifically because the region around Stuttgart is one of the hot spots of the automotive and machine building industry which Germany is famous for and attracts a hugely skilled design and engineer labor force.

The Merida team are more than just highly trained and experienced bicycle creators – they simply love everything ‘bike’. Most of their R&D staff are daily bike commuters while others are serious mountain bikers, who regularly compete in Marathon, Enduro and Downhill competitions, or licensed road racers and even ambitious Ironman triathletes. Get the behind the scenes view of the Merida R&D centre and meet some of their key members of staff in the below video.
